Every year millions of glass products are manufactured and almost 30% of glass items available in the market are recyclable. However, unfortunately only half of such products go through the recycling process. Recycling of glass is very important, it is good for environment and it saves lots of energy.
Glass recycling is the process where old glass products are recycled and new re usable glass products are created. Recycling glass is more environmental friendly than creating fresh glass products it saves almost 40% of energy.
Glass is made of lime, sand and soda ash all these three components are heated together for formulating the glass. This process emits considerable amount of fossil fuel. Recycling the glass is an easy way to check the emission of fossil fuel, the process of recycling glass saves nine gallons of fuel oils. Now the importance of recycling of glass is make sense to us.
Glass products such as light bulb, dishes and window glass are produced by different process and they cannot go through the process of recycling. Items like bottles, containers and jars are better for recycling. Glass items comes in three different colors; clear, green and transparent, sort out the glass products on its colors for recycling, all recycled glass products will have logo “G” on the products it indicates that the product is made of recycled glass and it can go through the process of recycling in near future.
Recycling glass is an easy way to save energy and it helps in making environment green.
