However, a chemical mixture of sodium, aluminum, and calcium fluorides is also used these days as a substitute for cryolite.

Aluminum is formed basically in combination with silica. A fair amount of aluminum is also found in rocks and in some natural materials on the earth’s surface and on its crust. Beside, this common metal is also found in precious stones like corundum, ruby, sapphire, and emerald.
