Pollution is not restricted to one country or area. It affects the whole world at large. Similarly, a single person or institution is not responsible for pollution. It is a result of the combined activities of several organizations and people. All of us are responsible for the pollution of our natural resources. The major contributors to pollution are the waste and harmful gases produced in companies like steel factories, cement factories etc. The burning of fossil fuels sued to drive machines and vehicles also contribute to pollution. The usage of things which cannot be degraded naturally also results in pollution. These non degradable items tend to stay in the environment and interfere with flora and fauns.

Chemicals used in agriculture, industry etc are also responsible for pollution. Pollution can be controlled if individual citizens and groups make an effort to spread awareness about pollution and its effects. At an individual level we ought to use biodegradable stuff and recycle and reuse things as much as possible. We should cut down on electricity consumptions and reduce the use of harmful chemicals like chemical pesticides and fertilizers. We can also contribute to reducing pollution by avoiding unnecessary usage of cars and motor bikes and stick to bicycles or car pooling.

It is essential to spread awareness about pollution among individuals and neighborhoods. We can do this by arranging awareness drives and promoting causes like organic stuff, recycling, rainwater harvesting etc. All these steps will help protect and preserve the environment for future generations.
