The climatic changes and a steady increase in the temperature at a global level have created a huge impact on the rainfall and general weather conditions in almost all parts of the world. This phenomenon has also caused seasonal variations which also influences on the crop yields and the availability of natural resources. |
The natural water sources in the world have been adversely affected. There is a general reduction in the amount of rainfall. This has become very erratic has affected various sectors like agriculture, domestic set-ups and industries which is totally depend on water for their survival and growth. An increase in the global temperature has also resulted in increased water evaporation which further puts a huge strain on the availability of water. The sector of forest industry also depends on the availability of water in a great manner. Predictable rainfall is necessary to support planting and growth of various trees. Decrease in the water resources adversely affects the output of the industry which is looking at various alternate strategies to adapt to the global changes.
Oceanic changes and variation in the ocean currents has also resulted in huge changes in the fishing industry which depends on the marine resources for survival. The livestock has also been affected. For example, in the dry regions of South Africa the habitat of many wildlife and livestock for grazing are affected due to the change in the rainfall patterns. Global warming has resulted in the increase in the amount of carbon dioxide present in the atmosphere. There is lesser protein found in the grass which directly impact the production of animal and dairy products
Some of the plant species which are unable to cope up with the rapid changes in climatic conditions are endangered. Thus, we see sharp drastic changes in the overall bio-diversity in the world today.
